What is Horses4Health and The Great Horses for Health Event?

Horses4Health is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to promote the positive impact horses can have on mental and physical health, while raising money for a number of charities supporting equine and human welfare. Our motto is 'People Helping Horses Helping People'.

The Great Horses for Health Event runs for 70 days from 19th June until 28th August 2022 and encourages riders, carriage drivers, long-reiners and in-hand leaders to celebrate their horses and the positive impact they have on their own health while meeting a new supportive group of like-minded people, enjoying the beautiful countryside and maybe even exploring somewhere new or trying something a little different.

We have a number of organised rides and events that participants can take part in but we are also encouraging people to take on one of our challenges to win medals, T-shirts and trophies. For more information on other challenges, click here.

Which charities are Horses4Health raising money for?

Horses4Health is raising money for two main charities in addition to having a grant process for smaller equine welfare charities to apply for money to help them for specific needs or projects.

Our lead charity is HorseWorld Trust who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome horses, ponies and donkeys as well as using some of their rescued horses in their innovative Discovery learning programme to help disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people.

Our other main charity is Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) who use horses to benefit the lives of around 25,000 disabled children and adults, supporting both physical and learning disabilities and autism.
