South East England

5th - 18th September

The penultimate leg of the relay is the South East of England which is a large region encompassing London, Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire and the Isle of Wight.

Being such a large region means the landscape and terrain varies from the beautiful rolling hills of the Chilterns, Cotswolds, North and South Downs to the culture and nightlife of large cities such as Oxford and London. The coastline is vast too with over 300 miles of it stretching from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent round to the New Forest and Isle of Wight in Hampshire.

The South East of England is home to two stunning national parks – the South Downs and the New Forest which is the largest area of lowland heath in Southern England and benefits from the stunning sight of native ponies and deer roaming free.

There are riding opportunities aplenty in the South East whether it be within the national parks, on the network of bridleways, at some of the big equestrian venues or on a selection of stunning private estates.
